MRA&T Represents National Law Firm in Malpractice Suit
Mitrani, Rynor, Adamsky & Toland was recently retained to represent a national law firm in a malpractice suit brought against it by a former client. The firm, suing for unpaid legal fees, had a counterclaim filed by a former client against the firm seeking some $4 million in legal fee repayments plus damages for what the client calls "incompetence."
Loren Cohen of Mitrani, Rynor, Adamsky & Toland in its motion to dismiss the counterclaim said, "There was no criminal intent to steal the...proceeds." The motion went on to say the "incompetence" the former client alleges involved a business acquisition, which was entirely out of the firm's control and therefore was simply not it's fault.
